Notable Students
Justin is originally from Dallas, Texas, and played collegiate golf at Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City before competing professionally for two years.
He has had the opportunity to work with some of the best instructors in the world at both the David Leadbetter Academy and Rick Smith Academy, which helped him learn a lot about the different techniques used to swing the golf club. However, it wasn't until he started working and training with the Titleist Performance Institute that he really began to flourish as an instructor.
By becoming an expert on how the swing and body are connected, Justin's outlook on teachingĀ golf changed forever. He has been a top level TPI certified instructor for more than five years and he has the highest level TPI certifications for the Golf Professional and Golf Biomechanics tracks.
Justin is now the Director of Golf at the Biltmore Golf Course in Miami/Coral Gables, Fla., and also operates the golf performance program on property, Total Performance Golf. At his facility he works with a great team of professionals that include Physical Therapists, Fitness Trainers, Clubfitters and Junior Performance Specialists.
The most efficient way to improve a golfer is by maximizing what each golfer is physically capable of reproducing consistently. Justin never prescribes static positions as swing fixes because the swing is a motion and must be trained like one. The truth is, over the past number of years, most golfers have been over taught and under trained. Justin refuses to let that happen any longer, so select him as your instructor and get to work on improving your game!
“Justin, Wow, great analysis. You really make it easy for me to understand what you are pointing out. I am looking forward to trying out these drills. The range just opened yesterday! So it's time for me to get to work. Going barefoot will definately be a new experience for me. And my right foot rolling over was something I wasn't even aware of until you mentioned it. I watched these videos over and over again, and never saw it. Thanks again!”
“Thanks Justin. Just thought you should know that I played in our Senior Club Championship this weekend, hit 27 greens in regulation for the two days, won going away thanks to your help. I have not won a tournament in I don't know how long. Consider me a VERY satisfied customer! Thanks very much for your observations and suggestions. Cheers ”
“ Hi Justin, Just wanted to let you know the tips and drills were a big success. As you mentioned, cause and effect. More I keep my hips from moving towards the ball, easier it became to shift my weight to the left side. I was also able to get better extension with arms through impact, which lengthened my drives and added height to my irons.vHit the range on Sat and shot 78 on Sun (with 2 three putts), which is 6-7 strokes better than the norm. I will take more video later this week to continue with a second lesson. ”
