For the last few weeks in our new Workout Wednesday series, we’ve been breaking down the role that fitness can play in some of the most common swing flaws that we see from SwingFix customers.
This week, we’re going to look at a problem that so many golfers have but that so few understand, and that issue is known in golfing circles as early extension.
Early extension can also be described as moving into the ball on the downswing or standing up before impact, and this is a problem that isn’t easy to spot without video help and it can be a killer in terms of your ball-striking.
In this video segment, SwingFix instructors and fitness experts Jim Williams and Karen Palacios-Jansen explain early extension, they’ll discuss why you might have this problem in your swing and they’ll offer up some great exercises to help you stay in your posture throughout your downswing and impact.
Enjoy this video and play close attention to what Jim and Karen are saying, because if you can eliminate early extension from your swing, you’ll be amazed at the results.
