The Offseason: How to create more width
By SwingFix.com staff
Since the arrival of 2012, our new series, The Offseason, has been taking a look at aspects of your fitness that could be having a negative impact on your golf swing.
That journey, at least the fitness aspect of it, ends with this edition, as we take a look at reasons why you might not be able to create enough width in your backswing, why your swing plane is too flat or why things are breaking down at the top of your swing.
In this video segment, SwingFix instructor Jim Williams shows you how to test your lat muscles to see if they’re flexible enough to make a good backswing. And if they’re not, he has some exercises that you can do to remedy this problem.
Remember, the offseason is the perfect time of year to work on your fitness, so try these drills and put yourself in position to make a better golf swing.
