The Offseason: Evaluate your fitness level

The calendar has flipped to 2012 and warmer weather and the start of the new golf season will be here sooner than later.

But for now, most golfers are still in the midst of their offseason. That, however, is not an excuse to stop working on your game.

In the coming weeks here at The Weekly Fix, we’re going to show you multiple ways that you can keep improving, even if winter weather is keeping you from the course or the driving range.

And that journey starts today with a look at ways in which you can evaluate your fitness level for golf.

Being physically fit is a critical component to playing golf at a high level and there could be crucial components of your swing, or aspects of a swing change that you’re trying to make, that you’re simply unable to physically achieve right now.

In the debut video segment of this series, SwingFix and certfied TPI instructor Jim Williams shows you six fitness self-tests that you can do to evaluate where you stand from a fitness standpoint as your prepare for the 2012 season.

Additionally, in the weeks ahead, we’ll show you where deficiencies in each of these different areas can show up in your golf swing and have an adverse affect on what you’re trying to accomplish with your swing and on the course.

And stay tuned every Monday for the next couple of months, as we’ll help you improve your golf game in ways that you might not have considered.

Enjoy and good luck!
