The camera never lies about your golf swing

When it comes to improving your golf swing, utilizing video to aid in that process is something that every golfer should take advantage of.

Why? Well, the simple truth is that the camera never lies.

What you’re feeling in your golf swing and what you’re doing in your golf swing will rarely match up perfectly and sometimes can differ drastically.

By seeing your swing on video, you’ll be armed with the legitimate information and feedback you will need to keep moving forward with your game, whether it’s getting your swing on plane, eliminating a sway off the ball, keeping the clubface from shutting in the backswing, etc.

And with the video capability that smartphones have these days, there’s absolutely no reason to not take advantage of that technology.

Along those lines, capture video of your swing often.

Many golfers are only interested in taking a look at their swing when things are going poorly, with the obvious hope of finding out why they’re not playing as well as they have at times in the past.

There’s nothing wrong with that strategy and you should take videos of your swing when your game is off the mark.

What most golfers don’t do, however, is capture video of their swing when they’re playing at a high level, and that is a crucial time to take some recordings. After all, shouldn’t you want to see your swing when it’s producing optimum results?

Having videos of your swing when it’s delivering quality shots will be the easiest way for you to identify what’s going wrong when it gets off track.

By utilizing side-by-side video capability, something that you can do for free on SwingFix (illustrated in the photo above), you can easily see what your arms, body and club are doing differently in your swing and pinpoint reasons why it isn’t functioning as well as it has proven capable of at other times.

Without a reference point as to why things are working well, figuring out why things aren’t clicking will prove to be a far tougher task.

So the next time you hit the course or the practice range and your golf swing is feeling dialed in, don’t rest on your laurels. Take the time to get some video.

You might not need it right then or even in the short-term, but your swing and game will benefit over time.
