Stop moving into the ball coming down

Many amateurs lose their spine angle on the downswing, straightening up and pushing their hips toward the ball.

When this happens, the result typically is a loss of shaft angle, contact on the heel (or maybe even the hosel), and big pushes.

In this video segment, SwingFix instructor Justin Bruton demonstrates a drill for keeping your pelvis away from the ball.

The trick is to feel like the club is coming from the inside so much that it's going to scrape the toes of your back foot.
