Many golfers are taught that the golf swing should include a weight shift away from the target on the backswing and a weight shift toward the target on the downswing.
Unfortunately for many of these same golfers, their attempts at a weight shift quickly turn into sways and slides, and the result is poor contact, especially with the irons.
In this video segment, SwingFix instructor Jim Williams has some thoughts about staying more centered in your swing and thinking less about shifting your weight and more about rotation.
Try this approach the next time you practice, and if you’re able to stay more centered in your golf swing there’s a good chance that you’ll start compressing the ball better.
