Stay behind the ball to make better contact

Staying behind the ball at impact is imperative when it comes to solid, consistent ball-striking.

Many amateurs, however, tend to lunge in front of the ball before impact, which feels like a powerful move but in fact leads to shots that are typically hit low and to the right.

In this video segment, SwingFix instructor Jim Williams has a great drill that will help you feel what it’s like to stay behind the ball on your downswing and into impact.

Try this the next time you’re on the range and you’ll likely see some significant improvement in how solidly you strike the ball.
