Sharpen descent for solid contact on chips
By Kiel Christianson
If you spend any time observing amateur golfers on the course, you'll notice that they give away tons of strokes around the greens.
That bruiser who just killed a tee shot 290 yards? Chances are, he'll fluff and/or skull his next chip shot and end up with bogey anyway.
Short-game practice will save more strokes than anything else, and consistent contact is the key to solid chips.
In this video swing tip, Martin Hall, Director of Golf at the Ibis Golf Academy in West Palm Beach, Fla., shares a simple drill to develop a steeper descent into the back of the ball, which will ensure sharper contact and an easily controllable, low, running chip.
