Loosen your grip to release the driver better

A lot of errant shots are the direct result of gripping the club too tightly. If you're squeezing the life out of the grip, you won't be able to release the clubhead at impact.

What's so important about the release? It allows the clubface to square and then turn over, which sends your shot down the intended line, maybe even producing the draw that is so coveted by most recreational golfers.

If you don't release the clubhead, the clubface stays open, and your shot will slice away from the target.

In this video tip, LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam demonstrates a simple drill to relax your death-grip on the club and get the feeling for a smooth release of the clubhead.
