Mike Fay - ‏@mikefaygolf - June 7: Love to see the smile on people’s faces when you put them into clubs that actually fit and help their game. #getfit @BOYNE

Justin Bruton - ‏@uGotJB - June 8: Sometimes humiliation is the best motivation. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.

Kandi Comer - ‏@kandicomergolf - June 9: There may be someone out there who has more talent than you, but there is no excuse for someone to work harder than you.

Ed Oldham - ‏@edoldhamgolf - June 9: Poor bunker players create a dig sole. Good bunker players learn to use the bottom of the wedge correctly. #golf tip

Jason Sutton - ‏@golfgurutv - June 10: I’m a coach but first I was a player. A 12 yr old is pushing me to be better on both accounts and his name is @golfgurjr. What pushes you?

Kandi Comer - ‏@kandicomergolf - June 10: Wow, lots of rain at Merion. Course will play soft this week which does not make the USGA officials happy.

Dennis Sales - ‏@DennisSalesGolf - June 10: Running out of fingers and toes counting all the #golfcliches.

Ed Oldham - ‏@edoldhamgolf - June 10: Use a 3-wood from the tee rather than a driver when you need accuracy. The increased loft makes it easier to hit your target. #golf tip

Accelerate when you putt for better results

The quickest way to become a better golfer is to become a better putter, but most amateurs don’t devote nearly enough practice time to that aspect of their game.

Additionally, one thing that plagues many amateurs on the greens is a decelerating stroke.

If you tend to miss putts short and on the low side of the hole, this video from SwingFix pro Bill Schmedes III will help you out.

So try this simple drill on the practice green and you’ll start to accelerate through the ball and make more putts.

Don't let the wheels fall off on the course

Does this sound familiar? You tee it up on the first hole, hit a decent drive, hit the green, and make an easy par. "I got this!" you foolishly think.

Then, one, two, or five holes later, the wheels fall off. Completely and utterly. And you find yourself trying to get that good feeling back, trying everything from new swing thoughts to new pre-shot routine to pulling different clubs to cursing to praying and then back to cursing.

We asked some of our top SwingFix instructors these questions:

"What do you do when the wheels fall off during a round? How can, or how should, you try to work on your swing in the middle of a round?"

Here’s what Justin Bruton, Director of Golf at The Biltmore Golf Course in Miami, Florida, had to say.

"I have all my players develop an 'Uh-oh’ swing,” Bruton said. “Basically this is a 3/4 swing that they can use when the full swing abandons them. This is generally a small version of their full swing that we will build early on in their lesson series that gives them a good foundation from which to build the fuller motion.

“They don't create as much speed with this swing, but it's a very effective swing when trying to hit the ball solid and straight.  Utilizing 3/4 swings are great for teaching weight shift and forward bend posture through impact. I combine this with a drill called 'self checkpoint swings' for my players as a self coaching tool when they are practicing on their own."

For an example, see this video.
