How to perfect a 'low-and-slow' takeaway
By SwingFix.com staff
One of the first golf tips I ever received was "low and slow" – the key to a smooth takeaway on the proper path.
Surprisingly, this is a difficult tip to remember. It takes some concerted practice now and then to maintain a low, smooth takeway.
In this swing tip video, Brad Brewer of the Brad Brewer Golf Academy in Orlando, Fla., demonstrates a clever drill for working on the perfect takeaway.
You'll need a few alignment sticks, including one stuck in the ground, but you could probably improvise with some clubs instead.
Working on this drill should instill not only a low, straight takeaway, but also good tempo and an optimal angle of attack at the other end of the swing.
