Don't get "stuck" with the ball below your feet
By Kiel Christianson
We often hear the pros lamenting that the club is getting "stuck" behind them. But what does that mean?
Getting "stuck" means that the downswing gets on a shallow plane and swings too much around the body. This makes it hard to shift your weight and rotate your hips toward the target.
In this video swing tip, Brian Mogg, Director of Instruction at the Waldorf Astoria Golf Academy, describes a way to let gravity and a normally bad lie help you get the feeling of getting "unstuck." The keys are to keep your weight forward and to keep the club out in front of your body more on the backswing and downswing.
The trick will be finding a practice area that lets you take swings with the ball below your feet!
