One mistake that’s often seen from average golfers is that they try to help the ball in the air with their irons or wedges as opposed to letting their swing and club do the work.
Ideally, when hitting solid iron and wedge shots, you want to hit down and through the ball, which can be a strange concept for many to grasp.
In this video segment, however, SwingFix instructor Tom Stickney will explain why you need to be hitting down and through the ball and he has a great drill to help you achieve that goal.
Try this drill the next time you’re on the range and you’ll likely see immediate improvement in how crisply you strike the ball.
